Special Elections in Wisconsin and California Take Center Stage

May 6, 2020

Voters in Wisconsin and California will cast ballots for two important special general elections on Tuesday, May 12.

Voters in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District will head to the polls and cast their ballots for Sean Duffy’s vacant seat. Republican State Sen. Tom Tiffany (R) will face Wausau School Board President Tricia Zunker (D). Tiffany is favored to win this previously Republican-held seat as Duffy, who resigned last fall, won the seat by 21.6% in 2018.

In California, 420,000 ballots were sent to all registered voters in the 25th Congressional District ahead of Tuesday’s election. Republican Mike Garcia, decorated United States Naval Officer, will face California State Assemblywoman Christy Smith, a Democrat, to fill Democrat Katie Hill’s vacant seat.

In preparation for the California special general election, the ABC PAC kicked off its Virtual Meet and Greet Series with Garcia where ABC PAC contributors had the opportunity to tune in and hear directly from the Republican candidate.

Any members interested in future meet and greets can complete a prior authorization form. Federal law requires members to sign a prior authorization form in order for the executive or administrative personnel of the member corporation to be solicited by ABC PAC.  ABC members can complete the required prior authorization form through this online portal: PRIOR AUTHORIZATION PORTAL.
